Several years ago, I felt the Lord’s nudging for me to start a ministry to hurting women and families. He gave me a vision of a beautiful, flourishing oasis in the middle of a dry and barren desert.

 

The words of Isaiah 58:11 came to mind as I pondered the vision. "The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.”

“Anything but addiction, Lord,” I prayed, as I wrote down the vision and embellished it with my own ideas of how it would be fulfilled.

 

My resistance to God’s plan was rooted more in fear than in rebellion. Admittedly, I was terrified at the idea that our family’s struggles with addiction might be far from over.

 

But that would prove to be the case, and God, in his infinite wisdom, wasn’t waiting until I had it all figured out to get me started. So, here we are together on this journey to hope, health, and healing. Will you join me?

Christian Moms of Addicted Children is a closed and supportive Facebook group created as a space of grace for women who are hurting because their child’s addiction to substances or life-controlling, self-destructive behaviors that are causing harmful effects on them as well as their families.

 

Here, our moms will discover a place of refuge from the storms they are facing. In this safe, shame-free haven, they are encouraged by other faith-filled moms who understand this pain-filled journey they are on. Our moms will receive hope-filled prayers for themselves, as well as their children.

In our group of over 3400 like-minded moms, we are reminded that no matter how hopeless the situation may seem, God is still in control.

 

Together, no matter what season we find ourselves in, we will truly be able to say that we have the faith to flourish.
