Don't Forget Your Rain Boots

When you pray for rain, don't forget your rain boots.

“Ask the Lord for rain in the springtime; it is the Lord who sends the thunderstorms. He gives showers of rain to all people, and plants of the field to everyone.” Zechariah‬ ‭10:1‬ ‭NIV‬

Many of you reading this may have children or loved ones struggling with addiction. Some as wayward and rebellious. This lifestyle has led them to make terrible choices, some have had devastating consequences. Many of you are wives whose marriages are falling apart, perhaps due to a husband who is caught up in sin and has walked out.

Your worn out. Your faith is weak. Understandable, but God has a plan waiting to be revealed. Now is not the time to grow weary or give up.

It's time to start praying and believing.

Pray…

“The prayer of the righteous person is powerful and effective.” James 5:16b NIV

“God is honored when we act as if He is going to answer our prayers! And acting as if means acting on our prayers. After hitting our knees, we need to take a small step of faith. And those small steps of faith often turn into giant leaps.” -Mark Batterson, Draw the Circle

It is tempting to lose hope that things will ever improve or that are loved ones will one day turn their hearts back to God.

Are you ready to give up? Or, are you still holding on by a thread of faith? Do you believe there is still a chance for rain and a chance for them to be showered in God's blessings, free from the sin that has held them?

How do we pray expectantly and then act on those expectations in faith? We start with baby steps that become big steps.

Believe...

“If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.” - Matthew 21:22 NIV

Are you praying and believing the Lord for miracles in the lives of those you cherish? Do you believe he can set them free? If so, it's time to start living and acting like you believe it. Put on your rainboots! Rain is on its way!

How? Believing those we love can and will be set free and then acting on it with our attitudes and actions are the best ways to beat the lies of the enemy.

Take Action...

As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead. - James 2:26 NIV

By praising God with a heart of gratitude.

By going out and living life with a peace and joy that comes from knowing that your God is more than able to save your loved one.

By serving others and sharing Christ’s love with them.

By enjoying your family and friends and spending time with the other people that God has blessed you with.

By living as though you believe God is in control, and he has not forgotten you or your loved one.

Today, go out and live your life expectantly, and don’t forget your rain boots!

Dear Lord of the Harvest,

You bring rain in due season. You bless us with showers in seasons of drought. Wash us with your word and with your Spirit. Bless us with faith and hope as we wait on You. We call on your name only for you are mighty to save. In Jesus name.

Amen.

Beautiful Blessings, Dawn
